IN MEMORY OF A FRIEND
It's hard to believe. Our friend, senior editor of Orientir magazine, Colonel Alexander Zhukov, has died. A man who, through his sincerity and cheerfulness, instilled optimism and faith in the future in us at such a difficult time for everyone, who was known, appreciated and respected by everyone with whom he had worked, has passed away. From the age of seventeen, in 1972, having connected his life with the army, Alexander Nikolaevich was faithful to his military duty and his once-chosen path until the last day. He was always there where it was difficult, where fires of conflict burned, blood flowed. So his restless heart told him. The heart of a true patriot and officer. Alexander Nikolaevich showed his journalistic talent and best human qualities while performing editorial tasks in Afghanistan and Karabakh, Transdniestria and Chechnya. Modesty always graced him. Not everyone knew that Alexander Zhukov was awarded the Order of Courage. In any field, our comrade-in-arms showed perseverance and diligence, and did everything possible to bring his creative ideas to life. His colleagues from the military newspapers of the North Caucasus and Odessa military districts, the Central Group of Troops, and the magazine Sovetsky Voin have repeatedly seen this. Colonel Alexander Zhukov came to Orientir in the prime of life, with a great desire to serve and work, and did a lot for the spiritual, moral and patriotic education of soldiers. Many of the materials prepared by Alexander Nikolaevich resonated in the hearts of readers. The heart of our comrade, a courageous officer, stopped beating, but the bright memory of him and his deeds will remain forever.
